Please join me for my Nightbird Embroidery Workshop in Provins and Paris, France from April 8 - 16, 2025, presented by Creative Experiences.
Nadine and Mark Roger, owners of Creative Experiences, have organized an extraordinary embroidery and shopping retreat which begins with 6 days in Provins, a medieval city and UNESCO World Heritage site, located south of Paris. On the evening of your arrival, you will be treated to a welcome reception at the beautiful, 4 star Hotel Au Vieux Remparts, where you will have the opportunity to meet me and your fellow workshop participants.
The following morning, we will begin a 4 day embroidery workshop learning my Nightbird Kit, which I designed especially for this event. The kit will be stitched on sapphire blue silk taffeta and incorporates: Au Ver a Soie silk; Benton and Johnson goldwork elements; Austrian crystals and pearls; seed beads from Czechoslovakia and Japan; golden Caracolin cord from Spain; colored pearl purl from India; vintage 19th century metal sequins; and shimmering metallic threads from France and Germany. I have sourced these materials with love, from all over the world, for their beauty and quality.
The workshop days will be comprised of 6 hours of instruction with a break for a delicious lunch, followed by a wonderful dinner later in the evening. In your free time, you may wish to explore the sights in Provins, or take advantage of the lovely spa at the hotel.
After the workshop is completed, we will travel to Paris for a 3 night stay and an incredible shopping tour hosted by Rebecca Devaney, of Textile Tours of Paris. We will visit some of the most historic embroidery and textile shops in Paris and Versailles, including the Au Ver a Soie factory, Ultramod, and Maison Sajou. We will spend our final afternoon exploring the spectacular Chateau de Versailles.
I am so excited to be a part of this wonderful event. There are just a few spaces left, so if you are interested in attending, please click the link below for more information or to register, or go to the Creative Experiences website, www.creative-experiences.com. You may see more photos of the venue and the kit on my Workshops page. I hope you will join us!
